FEBRUARY 12 & 13, 2010  Valentine's Day Romantic Retreat Hike at Jefferson Memorial Forest.  7:30 - 10 PM.  Join forest staff for a romantic candlelit hike through the forest that ends with a beautiful view of the lights of Louisville.  Hike ends at the Forest's beautiful Manor House with a roaring fire, hot beverages and desserts provided by local bakeries.  Meet in the Horine Reservation.  Reservations must be made by Monday, February 8th.  Fee $25 / couple  www.memorialforest.com

MARCH 14, 2010  Greenbelt Trail Walk at 2 PM in Elizabethtown, KY.  The Elizabethtown Greenbelt is a series of walking trails and mini-parks around Freeman Lake, Buffalo Lake, Fisherman's Lake and along the streams that flow to and from them. There are over 18 miles of trails and two parks open to the public.  From March through December, Greenspace organizes trail walks (Greenbelt Trail Walk)for the second Sunday of each month, at 2:00 p.m.  As topics become available, the site will be updated with details. MARCH 27, 2010  "Adventure Pennyrile Forest"  9 AM - 4 PM.  A naturalist guided hike in Pennyrile State Forest and Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park  6+ miles  The trail rating is difficult.  Registration fee of $12 per person includes transportation, a bottle of water, snack and a SRP patch.  Registered participants get a 10% discount off park lodging.  For more information, contact rebeccae.clark@ky.gov
